Sir Bradley Wiggins Finishes With Peleton in Three Days of De Panne Opener
The stage covered 201.6km from De Panne to Sottegem with the race set to finish on Thursday.
It was the sixth win of the season Katusha star Kristoff, who came second in the Milan-San Remo two weeks ago.
His victory puts him among the serious contenders for the Tour of Flanders Classic on Sunday.
Kristoff formed part of a six-man breakaway in windy conditions which forced organisers to restrict the pace of the first 12km of the race along the North Sea.
The six came in 34 seconds ahead of the pack - including Wiggins and Team Sky team-mates Christian Knees and Elia Viviani - with Kristoff kicking on with 250m to go to bag the opening day’s race by two seconds.
1. Alexander Kristoff (Nor) Katusha 3hr 59min 31sec
2. Jens Debusschere (Bel) same time
3. Stijn Devolder (Bel) s.t
4. Sean De Bie (Bel) s.t
5. Lars Ytting Bak (Den) s.t
6. Sven Erik Bystrom (Nor) at 6secs
