Mike Tyson Believes Manny Pacquiao Will Upset Floyd Mayweather on May 2
The former undisputed heavyweight champion believes Mayweather will only
defeat his pound-for-pound rival if he ditches his defensive style and
fights fire with fire on May 2.“He has to fight,’’ Tyson said of
Mayweather in a video posted on YouTube. “If he’s not going to score, he
is going to lose the round. Also, if he is laid back, he is going to
lose the round.
“I thought from the start that Pacquiao is going to win. This guy is perpetual motion. He comes from every angle; he’s all energy, always throwing punches, never stops.
“Floyd tucks in and picks his shots and he is more accurate. But he doesn’t throw anything like Manny’s 100 punches a round.
“It’s unlikely he can knock Manny out so if he wants to win he’s got to change. Unless he throws more punches he can’t win the rounds.”
Tyson’s former foe Evander Holyfield, meanwhile, is planning to be at the welterweight unification bout even if he has to buy his own ticket.
“I don’t know who’s going to win, that’s the reason I’m going to see it,’’
“If I had to pay, I would pay to see that fight, because that’s how great that fight will be.’’
Holyfield said the differing styles of Mayweather and Pacquiao make the fight hard to predict the winner.
