Chris Froome Backs 24-Hour Drugs Testing in Wake of Nicole Cooke Criticism

His remarks also followed an attack from Olympic champion Nicole Cooke, who criticised the International Cycling Union (UCI) for giving Froome a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) for a corticosteroid at last year’s Tour de Romandie.
Writing on Twitter, Froome responded: "I for one welcome 24hr testing. It may be an inconvenience but if it can help clean up the sport that I love let’s do it.”
Cooke, the former Olympic and world road-race champion, said in an interview with The Guardian: "I don't think it is at all right that Chris should have the race and prize money taken off him retrospectively, but [UCI president Brian] Cookson needs to issue a very clear message: he should be apologising to the rest of the riders for failing them."
