Andy Murray and Serena Wiliams included on French Open entry list
Murray, who has not played since last year's Wimbledon, was widely expected to make his return during the grass-court campaign but could now return sooner than expected while Williams returned to the sport in February after 13 months away for the birth of her first child.
The 30-year-old British No 2 was confirmed to play on the grass courts of Rosmalen in the Netherlands last month but could now target a maiden title at Roland Garros if he returns in time after his recovery from hip surgery.
Williams is a three-time champion on the Paris clay and has not played since a first-round exit to Naomi Osaka at the Miami Open and would enter the season's second Grand Slam on a 'protected ranking', with her current ranking at 445 in the world.
World No 1 and 10-time champion Rafael Nadal headlines the men's entry list and is expected to secure a record-extending 11th crown when the tournament begins on May 27, while great rival Roger Federer decided to skip the entirety of the clay court campaign.
