Procedure for AFCON U-23 Senegal 2015 Final Tournament Draw
The
draw for the final tournament of the Africa U-23 Cup of Nations Senegal
2015 is expected to take place on Monday, 14 September 2015 at the CAF
Headquarters in Cairo, Egypt at 09H00 GMT.
Eight
teams including hosts Senegal will be involved in the draw, which will
pit the participating teams into two groups of four teams each.
According
to the procedure for the draw, hosts Senegal is the top seed in Group A
with the coefficient A1, whilst Egypt are ranked B1 based on their
performance from the previous tournament.
The six remaining teams (Algeria, Mali, Nigeria, South Africa, Tunisia and Zambia) will be put in the same pot (Pot 1).
The
first team drawn will go to Group A, with the next going to Group B.
Pot 2 and 3 would contain the positions A2, A3 & A4 and B2, B3 and
B4. Once a team a team is picked, there will be another draw to
determine its position, A2, B3 etc; to be repeated until the groups are
complete.
The top two placed teams from each group will qualify for the semis.
