THE BRONG Ahafo Regional wing of the Ghana Blind Sports Association (GBSA) will organise a goalball competition on Monday, July 2, 2018 at the Sunyani Coronation Park.
The event will see the visually-impaired athletes compete in football, short put and other sporting activities for both males and females.
The purpose of the games is to popularise blind sports in the region and also select formidable regional male and female Nucleus Goalball teams to prepare towards participation in national and international competitions such as the National Unity Games.
The Brong Ahafo Sports wing of the Ghana Blind Sports also intends to use this platform to create awareness of goalball as an emerging sporting discipline for persons with disability in the region.
Teams that win the goalball and football competition will be awarded with cash prizes in both male and female categories.
The GBSA is the sports wing of the Ghana Blind Union, affiliated to the international Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) and mandated to develop blind sports in association with the National Paralympic Committee of Ghana.
