Janet Amponsah and Alex Amankwah wins top Award
The 3rd edition of the Liquid Sports Ghaha awards for the year 2017 has come on at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City in Accra. The awards sponsored by Rokmer Pharma Limited saw12 athletes officially short listed for the honors. The nominee's short listed at the event dominated the 2017 IAAF World Championships in London. They are athletes who broke national records and home based promising athletes.Janet Amponsah and Alex Amankwah were voted the female and male athletes of the year. Amponsah produced a life time best 22.90s(PB) in the women’s 200m in London whiles Amankwah whipped off a 23 year old national 800m record with a dazzling performance.

Athletes Patrick Yaw Obeng, Raphael Botsyo Nkegbe, and Alem Mumuni of Ghana's para sports division have also been honoured for their contribution and commitment to the growth and development of para sports in Ghana. They receive a gift of GH 500 each by the Indian Women’s Association. Dr. Bella Bello Bitugu, Director of Sports at the University of Ghana Legon and the Indian Women’s Association of Ghana were awarded with the “Leadership and Excellence Award”
