AIPS Mourns The Death of Wrestling Commission Chairman Ali Gümüs

The AIPS has reported the sudden death of Ali Gümüş, chairman of AIPS Wrestling Commission and journalist at daily Cumhuriyet newspaper on Friday, April 3rd, 2015 in Istanbul, Turkey.

Ali Gümüş was elected Chairman of AIPS Wrestling Commission in Athens in 1999.

Gümüş a former weightlifter and wrestler served as a journalist for over 50 years. Gümüş was among the delegates that attended the recently held AIPS congress in Paris last month. He authored more than 30 books and was recognized thrice by FILA(now United World Wrestling) for his service to the sport.
