8 Dead in Afghanistan Including a journalist
At least eight people have been killed in back to back bomb attacks on Ramadan night-time cricket tournament in Afghanistan.
ASJF Member and organizer of the Ramadan Peace tournament Hedayatullah Zaheer was among those killed while ASJF regional Office manager Qarar Azizi is injured.
At least 45 people were wounded at the sports stadium as they gathered for the "Ramadan Cup" tournament according to local media reported.
The attack took place as hundreds of people gathered at Spinghar cricket stadium in the provincial capital Jalalabad to watch a Ramadan night-time cricket tournament on Friday.
Attahullah Khogyani, spokesman for the provincial governor, confirmed to media that at least 45 others were wounded in the blasts.
Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and other government officials strongly condemned the attack.
During the last one month this is the second ASJF Member killed in bomb blasts in Afghanistan.
"The terrorists did not stop killing our people even during the holy month of Ramadan ... by carrying out a terrorist attack in a populated sport stadium, once again they have proved that they are not bound to any creed or religion, and they are the enemy of humanity." Afghanistan Presidential Palace published a press release.
No one immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.
