12 years old Mathias Akrofi comes first in 12KM Male race Category

David Mathias Akrofi aim higher after being the youngest athletes to arrive first but attained an 11th position after the race out of about 200 participant during the 9th edition of GF Sports Cross country held on the 5th of may at the university of Ghana Campus. Akrofi says his target is to be world champion one day. John Kudanu from Kumasi came first, followed by Seidu Salifu and Afful Basit both from Swedru from the men category. The winner took away a prize money of GHC300, the second and third, GHC200 and GHC100 respectively. The Head of Marketing at Millennium Insurance, Nicholina Ladzekpo, one of the headline Sponsors explains that as a corporate organization, they believe in a  healthy society hence the willingness to support such programs to promote good health. As part of the packages, Millennium Insurance gave out event insurance in case of any unforeseen mishaps in course of the event. Other sponsors includes, the University of Ghana, Nunu Milk, Head first Connect, and GF Sports. The Management of GF Sports and the University of Ghana will decide the fate of the next years edition of the event.
