Sports Minister to launch 41st MTN-SWAG Awards on Monday, May 16


 

Mr Edwin Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, Minister of Youth and Sports (MOYS), will join the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG), to launch the 41st MTN-SWAG Awards at the MTN head office in Accra.
 
    Mr. Vanderpuye, a members of the Association will formally launch the 41st MTN-SWAG Awards Night at the MTN head office at Ridge at 10:00am.
 
  
     This will be the sixth consecutive year MTN-Ghana will headline the Awards Night, since the two bodies joined hands and the second time the minister is joining his mother association for an official event since taking up the ministerial job.
   
      MTN-Ghana, would use the occasion to announce their package for the Awards Night, whilst SWAG would also use the launch to announce to the public details of this year’s event.
   
  
     MTN-SWAG Awards, is one of the longest running sports events in the country established by the Association since 1974 that recognizes the achievements of top performers of all sporting disciplines as well as personalities connected with sports in the country.
 
   SWAG and MTN would renew their relationship after five years of sponsoring the event.
   
    In all 26 sports men and women drawn from the various sporting disciplines would be honoured on the night for their performance in the year 2015.
