The Black Meteors puts their Gabonese counterparts to the sword.
The double header at the nations Wembley (Accra Sports Stadium) was brought to light with a four goals thriller against Gabon. Kwabena Owusu broke the deadlock 15 minutes into the game with an assist from Joseph Paintsil into the top coner of the net. The Panthers on the other hand came close a few times and hit the cross bar few minutes to go for the first half.
The Head Coach, Ibrahim Tanko's boys came into the second half strongly with the introduction of the Paderborn attacker Bernard Tekpetey adding more woes to the sorrow of the Gabonese counterparts with a second goal. The quick feet Trencin winger, Osman Bukari place an icing on the cake of the Meteors with a brace in the 75th and 85th minutes of the game. The meteors would go into the 3rd round of the qualifiers on Tuesday in Libreville.
The meteors would be hoping to qualify for the Afcon and also get into the semi-final stage to help book a ticket to the Olympics games 2020 in Tokyo, Japan.
