Tullow Oil lead Beach Soccer comeback in the Western region

The first Inter District Beach Soccer Kundum Cup kicks off today in the Western region of Ghana.

Energy giants Tullow have put their full support behind the event thanks to the persistence hard work of the Acting Western Regional Beach Soccer Coordinator Lord Oware.

Participating teams are
Ahanta West District,
Ellembelle, Jomorro, Nzema East, Shama, STMA and a number of curtain raisers featuring juvenile beach soccer teams.

In what is expected to be the biggest beach soccer tournament outside Accra, the Omanehene of Lower Axim Awulea Attiburu-kussu III would grace the competition , the MP and minister for Tourism Hon Catherine Abelema Afeku and Chairman of
Ghana national  canoe fishermen council Nana kojo  Conduah would be in attendance.  All chief fishermen from the district are also expected to throng Axim to witness the bare footed action packed sport.

President of Beach Soccer Ghana Yaw Ampofo Ankrah believes sponsorship for such competitions plus increased media coverage would boost the sport across Ghana.
