UNIVERSITY OF GHANA FINISHES 2nd @THE 8th AFRICA UNIVERSITY GAMES.

Ghana finished second behind South Africa in the overall rankings at the end of the 8th Africa University Games which ended at the University of Johannesburg in South Africa  on Saturday, 2nd July, 2016.

The country’s three representatives at the Games- the University of Ghana Legon(UG), Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and the University of Education Winneba- collectively won 29 medals made up of 12 gold medals, 10 silver medals and 7 bronze medals.

The trio’s performance at the Games was only bettered by host country South Africa whose collective medal haul was made up of 24 gold medals, 18 silver medals and 16 bronze medals.
